10 things you did not know (perhaps) not on Tokyo, now yes

Tokyo is an interesting place, a giant and captivating city. If you are not yet jamas gone, you notice how each of the parts of the city differ greatly. But for now, it's time to do a little more knowledge. 

Neon Shibuya traditional temples Taito, to Ryogoku Kokugikan in Sumida (the largest sumo arena in Tokyo), the city has no shortage of excitement. But if none of this is done for you, there are plenty of areas that may be suitable. You will not (maybe) not able to cover them all during your two-week vacation, but see the positive side ... Tokyo will always give you a reason to return. And you will never be against:

1. With over 8000 square kilometers, the Greater Tokyo is the second largest metropolitan area in the world in urban mass. In terms of population, Tokyo comes number 1 with nearly 38 million inhabitants.

2. The literal translation of Tokyo: Capital of the East, formerly known as "Edo" (To: is kyô: capital). It is the administrative capital of Japan since 1868.

3. Tokyo was originally host Olympic Games in 1940, but they were eventually awarded to the city of Helsinki, and then canceled due to the Second World War.

4. Tokyo Disneyland was the first Disney theme park outside the United States. The resort employs more than 20,000 people.

5. Every year, and according to tradition, hanami place, an ancient practice that involves sitting on beautiful blankets, drinking sake and to contemplate the cherry blossoms. Japanese enjoy thoroughly these magic moments: Markets plants, dances, dragons and many other events that punctuate this magnificent bloom. (the best photos of cherry blossoms here)

6. That's the Eiffel Tower that inspired Tokyo Tower. This is repainted every five years; a process that lasts 
12 months.

7. The Oshiya or "pushers" are used in some stations in Tokyo. These employees station literally push people in crowded rush hour trains.

8. The longest concert ever held in Tokyo Dome was that of Guns N'Roses. December 18, 2009, they played for three hours and 37 minutes (you could gifts arrive late).

9. The Imperial Palace in Tokyo is usually closed to the public (the branch of the imperial and the "garden" for their home are available), with the exception of the Emperor's birthday and New year, where people are invited to enter.

10. Hara Takashi was the tenth Prime Minister of Japan. He was the first commoner and the first Christian to access the post of Prime Minister of the Emperor of Japan. He was stabbed to Tokyo station by a right-wing officer. The latter then spent 13 years in prison before being released.
